I had a wonderful time at SWAK in the City last Wednesday July 29th (also DD 12th birthday).  It was not only a SnB night but a going away party for Cody and Logan.  They are heading off to NY state for bigger and better things and we all wanted to wish them well in all their future endeavors.  Good Luck Guys you will both be missed a great deal.  Thanks for making my world a little nicer then it was.

Of course since Muriel started knitting I get to have even more fun when I go to the City.  It is really handy getting to crash with her and her wonderful family.  Also we have a lot of the same friends now so I get to see my friends and visit the shops without her being bored to tears.  Speaking of friends....can you find Laura aka Sprout in the picture.  Laura is an incredible girl and a very accomplished New knitter, I got to see her Girasole in progress ... Gorgeous!  Mary was working on the Blooming Cotton Scarf, and although I wasn't totally sold on this pattern when I saw it in the Magazine or online I love it in person, Mary is doing a fantastic job.  Courtney is just putting the finishing touches on her Mystic Light shawl..... well she will be when she re-knits everything I ripped out for her LOL.  Seriously we have been talking about her shawl forever and I know she will finish it soon.  I will let Muriel share her own knitting, I think you will be impressed with just how far her knitting is coming along.

The Blue blob in Laura's hand is her Girasole and Muriel is holding what will one day be her Girasole.  It will be wonderful it see what Logan will do with the very bright blue I brought for him. 

  Me well I have finished the first sock in the "House Divided" colorway.  I really like it, the perfect "talking sock".  Talking sock- a plain stockinette sock with lots of interesting color.  I am also working on a shawl from some handspun Shetland wool I dyed back in March.  I got a high-speed whirl and a few High-speed bobbins and am really loving the results.   I am knitting the Feather and Fan Triangle shawl from Folk Shawls or I will be again when my lovely sister mails me my book that I left at her house last week.  MAIL ME MY BOOK!!!  xoxo Please

Last Saturday night I got to go to the Fall 2008 Hot Loops Party.  This was my first opportunity to go to the Hot Loops party, it won't be my last!  I had such a wonderful time and loved getting to see some of the wonderful knitters from Tulsa. 

We all started by getting to visit a little out in front of Loops waiting for the doors to open, loved it.  It was wonderful to just stand around and chat with all the great ladies that I rarely get to see.  Once we all got in the shop there was a mass migration to the new Hot Loops wall. Lots of amazing patterns and yummy yummy yarns.  The shopping was out of control, amazing what a great discount and being the first to see it will do to your willpower. 

What made it very personal for me is that the Tempted Big Grrl made its debut.  It is being used in the 'Boomer Scarf'.  Super fast knit and a fun, chunky, hand painted yarn.  It was dyed in 3 colorways for the 3 big football teams in OK.  The great thing about the 3 colorways is that they are all very versatile.  'Boomer' is Crimson and Cream so even if you aren't a Sooner fan it is a great color combo.  'Go Pokes' is Orange and Black even people who are not Cowboy fans need a Halloween scarf for your night out trick or treating.  Finally 'Hurricane Warning' is Blue and Gold a fun, bright and happy yarn for almost anyone.  Great Christmas knitting hint hint.  Seriously it took me about 4 hrs to knit the scarf.

Shelley and Brent do an awesome job with the pics, doesn't hurt that Shelley has some very cute family members.  Thanks ya'll for making Tempted Big Grrl look so wonderful.

I mentioned Christmas gifts earlier and it made me think about a resent request that I got.  A young woman from Ravelry sent me a msg, she had made her mother some socks out of Good Grrl.  Her mother has diabetes and has very sensitive feet and these were the first socks her mom liked to wear.  She asked me to dye something for her mom for Christmas, I was overjoyed to get to dye something so special.  It is on it's way to her now. 

If you are interested in something special for Christmas knitting now is the time to get those special requests in.  It is taking a few weeks to dye them now.  There is a list and first yell first dyed.  I am also excited to announce that we are trying to add a custom request page to the website sometime in the future.
