This fundraising offer will go from today till I am out of yarn or June 1. Because I don’t know how to set this up on the website and insure that everything goes exactly where I want it to. I am asking that you email me at email@example.com with ‘Chemo for Kenny’ in the subject line. I will then bill you through Paypal or you can send a check. I will get busy dyeing your yarn to order and send it as soon as it is dry.
I want to give you a little background on the person you will be helping. Kenny is not only our daughters husband but the father to 4 kids, 2 girls and 2 boys, between 15 and 8 years old. Up until his diagnosis in Jan. 2014 he was a Middle School Math teacher and owned a landscaping company.
He and Amanda met in the spring of 2013 and the first time she brought him to meet us he told us that he intended to marry her. She laughed. By December he had her, he ordered the ring. The kids and he made her a big dinner. With each course of the meal one of the kids would serve and then sit and tell Amanda what they liked about her. After all four kids and served their portion of the meal they brought out desert, a cake with “Will you Marry US?” written on it. That is the kind of husband and father he is. Of course Amanda said yes and we all knew that they would live happily ever after. A month later in January he had a seizure and they found the cancer. He asked Amanda several times if she wanted to back out of the wedding, of course she was offended and told him he was marrying her whether he liked it or not now. They began the cancer treatment and in Oct. of 2014 went to North Carolina and were married on the beach.
His cancer treatment was one that was DNA specific and was working well up until this most recent scan. Now they are going to need to change things up and are looking in to all the clinical trails from across the country. Luckily for our family Amanda has a very nimble and scientific mind and has been studying the trials at length and has a great working relationship with Kenny’s Oncologist. He agrees with what she has found, so know it is down to fighting with the insurance company about out of network treatment and traveling to wherever they need to go.
